Please don’t play small in your life!  I don’t care if you’re an employee, sales professional, supervisor, manager or the owner of a business.  Taking small steps will not keep you safe or unnoticed or avoid being perceived as arrogant or egotistical you are shortchanging yourself  and the world.  Don’t play small, it won’t help you or anyone.  At the same time do not measure small by some “World Standard” only you know when you are not doing what it is you truly want to.

We are more than half way through the year,  I cannot believe it has been over five years since I founded Kause Success Management.  When I think of the dozens of clients and literally hundreds of lives I have touched in these past five years I am a bit overwhelmed.  Through my one on one coaching, group training, motivational speaking and articles, I am aware of the positive ripple effects that I and these folks are making on the world.

Making a Difference

You do not have to be a business owner to make a difference.  Heck, you don’t even have to know what your “Calling” is.   More people than not, whom I have met, have no idea what their calling is.   “Knowing your Purpose or Following Your Calling” has been over played in the self help industry.  Not everyone has or needs that.  No two people are the same, not everyone needs to have children or get married to have a fulfilling life, there is no one size fits all approach.  What you need to do is; whatever it is you do, but with the very best effort and intention as possible.

Success Story

One of my earlier clients was a realtor.  She actually did not like being a realtor.  She had other dreams, but in our small area, that option was not lucrative enough.  Her and her husband had a plan that included her making a certain amount of money, so that they could retire early.

She was trudging through the process of selling real estate and not having very much fun or making very much money.  I helped her to re-direct her focus not on the “JOB” but the purpose and outcome of that job, she literally skyrocketed her sales and just as importantly, she began to actually enjoy what she was doing.   She more than doubled her income and therefore was able to move forward with retirement plans.  She stopped thinking small.  From thinking, “I don’t like my job, I don’t do it very well, I am a failure.” She switch to;  “I have a dream, I have the ability to make it happen, I am a huge success.”

Her and her husband achieved their goal.  They happy to be closer to family and enjoy the life she helped create.  She did not follow the “Do What you love” and follow it blindly.  Changing her thoughts about her work changed her experience.   Now she is an excellent example to her family that you can do whatever you put your mind to;  Joyfully.  Think of all the people she has effected by being such a great example! The ripple effect matters.

Favorite Quote

I close today with my most favorite quote.  Whenever I start thinking small or moving in fear, I read this and it reminds me that no matter how big or small my practice is, I am making a difference and it matters and to never hold back because I think it may not be the “right” decision.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”  Marianne Williamson.
